Sooraj Pancholi excited to play a soldier in ‘Satellite Shankar’

’. Now, the actor has said that he is excited to play a soldier in the movie, which is being directed by Irfan Kamal. Talking to a daily, Sooraj said that he is thrilled to be a part of ‘Satellite Shankar’ all the more because he will get to share screen space with real jawans.

The actor told the publication that it’s a big deal to play a soldier on screen. He also shared that he is happy to interact with the soldiers and learn about their experiences. Before kick-starting the shoot in Himachal Pradesh, the young actor also visited the Army base camp in Amritsar, to prep for the role.

Recently, it was announced that South actress Megha Akash will be cast opposite Sooraj in the film. The film, produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde, is also touted to be the first Hindi film, which has been shot across 10 Indian states. The mystery around who Sooraj’s heroine would be, also added to the buzz around the film.

Meanwhile, ‘Satellite Shankar’ is Sooraj’s third film — after ‘Hero’ and the yet-to-release ‘Time To Dance’. A few months ago, in an interview with BT, the actor had opened on how his impending court cases have made people a bit apprehensive to work with him. He had said, “If I were a producer, even I would think about these things. I have charges levelled against me. A film would involve investing a few crores in my name on a project. At the outset, people probably didn’t cast me because they wanted things to settle down. While I completely believe in our law system, I think it’s very slow. It took five years for my trial to merely start. I don’t know how long it will take before it ends. I will have to battle this throughout.”
