Confirming that the makers have been approached by official film distributors from China, the director told a news publication that process has already been initiated. “Yes, we have been approached by the distributors in China, and the process of the necessary paperwork for the same has already begun. It is the first step in the process, since distribution and screening of films in China is governed by the government officials,” he reportedly said. This is apparently an attempt by the Chinese distributors to inspire the younger generation to follow sports, and they believe that ‘Pailwaan’ will appeal to the audiences out there.

Earlier, there were talks of ‘K.G.F: Chapter 1’ being released in China, but the makers did not officially announce the same. So, if ‘Pailwaan’ gets a green signal, it will be the first Kannada-based project to hit the screens in China. Apparently, it takes anywhere from three months to a year for a foreign film to release in China due to the numerous processes followed by their local governing bodies.
