As excitement builds for the release of Stree 2 on Thursday, August 15, the internet has taken note of an uncanny similarity in the film's promotional poster.

Netizens had a field day poking fun at a poster that many are saying, is a rip-off of the poster for 'Stranger Things 2'. Fans were quick to point out that the posters share a strikingly similar colour palette, layout, and overall aesthetic.

Social media platforms were soon flooded with side-by-side comparisons, with many users commenting on how closely the two posters mirrored each other. "Same, same but different," one fan quipped, summing up the general sentiment.

"They didn't even hesitate," another user commented.

'Stree 2', promises the return of popular characters played by Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana. The film is the fourth instalment in the Supernatural Universe, following the success of 'Stree' (2018), 'Bhediya', and 'Munjya', which crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office early this year.

The original Stree was based on the Kannada folktale of "Nale Ba" (which translates to "come tomorrow"), a story where a malevolent spirit is warded off by writing this phrase on the walls of homes.

The film is currently the hot favourite watch this long Independence Day weekend, beating out the likes of Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starters to take the lead in advance ticket sales.
