Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha marked their 44th wedding anniversary on July 9 with a special celebration hosted by their daughter Sonakshi Sinha and her husband Zaheer Iqbal at their Bandra residence. The intimate dinner was attended by close family and friends, including veteran filmmaker Subhash Ghai, who shared a glimpse of the memorable evening.
Subhash Ghai, a close friend of the Sinha family, took to Instagram to share an endearing photo from the event. The picture featured the happy couple, newlyweds Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, and Zaheer’s parents, Iqbal Ratansi and his wife. The entire group was seen beaming with joy, capturing the essence of the celebration.
In his heartfelt post, Ghai reminisced about his longstanding relationship with the Sinha family. He recalled performing the kanyadaan ceremony for his ‘rakhi sister’ Poonam Sinha during her wedding to Shatrughan Sinha in 1980. "My first friend n my first hero in Mumbai SHATRUGHAN SINHA Got married to POONAM SINHA In 1980: 9 July I did the ceremony of KANYADAAN of Poonam. My dear rakhi sister for good," he wrote.
Expressing his joy and nostalgia, Ghai added, "Last night 9 July we again celebrated their marriage anniversary at Sonakshi Zaheer's home with fun, laughter n nostalgia. I was happy to see Shatru healthy n joyful. God bless both a happy life." The post was accompanied by emojis reflecting his emotions.
Meanwhile, Luv Sinha also wished his parents on their anniversary, however, he omitted his sister Sonakshi from his post. He shared a picture of him with his parents Shatrughan and Poonam and his twin brother Kussh Sinha and captioned, “Happy anniversary to my amazing parents. We were blessed to have been born as your children, and are grateful for every moment we share with you.”
