Suniel Shetty praises KL Rahul's match-winning form: 'We connect everything with the victory...'

Suniel Shetty, who will soon be seen in Kesari Veer, a film based on the forgotten warriors who fought to protect the Somnath Temple in the 14th century, recently opened up about his son-in-law KL Rahul’s ongoing performance for Team India. Suniel said that Rahul has consistently delivered, even when the team hasn't secured a win.

"People are seeing him because he is finishing and winning the match," Suniel told ANI, adding that KL Rahul played well even in matches India didn’t win. He reflected on how audiences have become accustomed to victories, saying, "We connect everything with the victory... now I think he is winning somewhere, which is why people appreciate him."

He further praised Rahul's attitude toward the game, saying the cricketer finds joy in simply being a part of the Indian team. Regardless of the batting position, Suniel emphasized that Rahul is committed to serving the country in any role. “Whether it’s number one or number eight, as long as he’s playing for the country, he’s happy,” he said.

Beyond his public persona, Suniel Shetty recently embraced a new role in his personal life, that of a grandfather. His daughter Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul welcomed their baby girl on March 24.




The actor had earlier taken to LinkedIn to express the overwhelming joy this new chapter brought him. Sharing a heartfelt selfie with Athiya, KL Rahul, and his wife Mana Shetty, Suniel wrote that becoming a grandfather is “a feeling I can’t even describe.”



Reflecting on life’s simple joys, he noted that holding his granddaughter made him feel lighter and more content. “It’s like a reminder from life, telling me to keep things simple. To cherish the everyday,” he wrote.
