There are many names in Bollywood who despite having familial connections had to work from scratch to make their name in the industry, and Sunny Kaushal is one of them. The ‘Shiddat’ fame director asserted that neither he nor his brother Vicky Kaushal leveraged their father's (Sham Kaushal’s) name to secure roles in the film industry.
While Sham Kaushal is a respected figure in the industry, primarily known for his action direction, Sunny in an interview with Curly Tales emphasized that casting directors often remained unfamiliar with technicians behind the camera. Sunny revealed that even if the casting directors knew his father's name, it did not necessarily translate into opportunities for them.
In response to queries about auditioning despite having a film industry background, Sunny explained that several people in the casting area aren’t even aware of the technicians that are behind the camera. Even if they do, there’s hardly a connection between them. Despite being proud of his surname, Sunny highlighted that neither he nor Vicky exploited their familial ties.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Sunny Kaushal is gearing up for his upcoming project, ‘Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba,’ featuring Taapsee Pannu. The movie is expected to be released this year.
