‘Chanda Mama Door Ke’, which was supposed to cast
Sushant Singh Rajput as an aspiring astronaut, will now be revived as a tribute to the late Bollywood actor. Director Sanjay Puran Singh has already admitted that even if the film being revived he ‘can’t think of a replacement’ for Sushant. However, the news didn’t go well with the late actor’s fans and friends.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s family friend Smita Parikh, who has been one of the torchbearers of the ‘justice for SSR’ movement, was one of the first to show her disappointment.
She requested the makers not to make the film without SSR and that it should be the end of the discussion.
Check out Smita’s tweet here:
SSR fans were quick to catch up on the trail as they expressed their unhappiness over it. Some even claimed that the makers might be trying to cash in using his name. Others suggested it should be stopped at any cost.
Smita in another tweet claimed how someone else can be roped in to deliver the same passion and dedication like Sushant.
Ever since ‘Chanda Mama Door Ke’ was announced in 2017 the film grabbed attention for its unique subject. Sushant even underwent rigorous training at the
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) prepping up for his role before he died on June 14 last year.
Meanwhile, the director has said that as he can’t imagine casting anyone else in place of Sushant in he will now rework the script.
