Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti addresses claims that Bollywood boycott or loneliness led to his tragic death: ‘Vo bhakt the andar se, unko koi tod nahi sakta tha’
Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, has once again opened up about the continuing discussions around her late brother’s passing. In a recent interview, she addressed the ongoing speculation that Bollywood’s boycott or Sushant’s loneliness may have contributed to his tragic death in June 2020.
Speaking to Shubhankar Mishra, Shweta said, “Yeh possible hai general public ke sath, I’m not disagreeing to it but jo insaan ka core ki spiritual hai na. Mujhe lagta hai bhai bhi ekdum aise hi the, seedhe se aur ek bhakt andar se, intellectual sound karte the vo but bhakt the andar se unko koi tod nahi sakta tha.” (It’s possible with the general public, I’m not disagreeing, but when someone’s core is spiritual — I believe my brother was just like that, pure-hearted and deeply devoted. He may have sounded intellectual, but he was a true devotee from within. No one could break him.)
Posting a picture of herself holding the passport on Instagram, Rhea wrote, “Patience was my only passport for the past 5 years. Countless battles. Endless hope. Today, I hold my passport again. Ready for my Chapter 2! ✈️ Satyameva Jayate.”
A bench headed by Justice Neela Gokhale ordered the restoration of Rhea’s passport, stating that there was no reason to doubt her intentions. However, the court has laid down certain conditions — she must attend all hearings unless exempted by the trial court, provide her detailed travel itinerary (including flight and hotel details) at least four days before leaving the country, and keep her mobile number active during travel. She is also required to inform the investigating agencies immediately upon her return.
‘His faith made him unshakable’
While not dismissing the theories about professional isolation or mental stress, Shweta shared that her brother’s spiritual depth made him emotionally strong. “Sushant was spiritually awakened and deeply rooted in his faith. That gave him a sense of peace and resilience that not many understood,” she said, adding that his belief in the power of the universe and higher consciousness guided his life.‘Incomplete journeys leave us aching’
Reflecting on why the sudden deaths of stars like KK, Sidharth Shukla, and Zubeen Garg continue to affect people, Shweta said, “Kyunki andar se hume lagta hain na unhone apni life cycle complete nahi ki, jaise bhai ke liye lagta hai na, shaadi ho jati, bacche kar leta, vo saari joy bhi experience kar leta life mein toh complete life hota, jo hume jaldi chodhke chale jaate hain, unke liye lagta hain.” (Because deep down, we feel like they didn’t complete their life cycle. Like in my brother’s case — if he had gotten married, had children, and experienced all the joys of life, it would’ve been a complete journey. For those who leave us too soon, it feels incomplete.)Rhea Chakraborty begins her ‘Chapter 2’
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty, Sushant’s former partner, shared a personal update that marks a new beginning in her life. On October 3, Rhea revealed that she had finally received her passport back after five years. The Bombay High Court directed the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) to return her passport, which had been seized in 2020 during the investigation of the drugs case linked to Sushant’s death.A bench headed by Justice Neela Gokhale ordered the restoration of Rhea’s passport, stating that there was no reason to doubt her intentions.
