Suzanna Mukherjee : Unlike my character Naari, I’m quite complicated in real life

Although Suzanna Mukherjee is sexy, smart and stylish like her character Naari Shrivastava in director Amit Khanna’s Fun Never Ends — Badmashiyaan, it was a little tough for her to play a con girl.
Excerpts from a conversation with the actress...
Your film opens in cinemas on Holi (tomorrow), making it a festival release.
All the major holidays in our country are ruled by such huge stars that I feel like one too (laughs)! Besides being a festival of love, which our film is all about, Holi is also the most badmaash festival of India.How was the experience of playing a con girl in the movie? The biggest challenge was getting into Naari’s thought process. In real life, I’m quite complicated, while Naari is free of all life complications. Playing this character was liberating because I realised how much fun you can have, once you stop caring about what’s right and wrong.

Your mother is half-Russian and half-Ukrainian, while your father is Bengali. What qualities have you imbibed from both?
While my dad kept me grounded with a very strict Indian upbringing, my mother has always been my best friend, who speaks the truth, whether I can handle it or not. Also, I have learnt many languages, which is a perk.
Apparently, you’re inspired by Carrie Bradshaw (character played by Sarah Jessica Parker) from Sex And The City.
I’ve watched the entire series at least 10 times and both the films too. In my film, I got to wear some beautiful outfits and accessories like Carrie wore on the show.
