Tannaz Irani recalls walking out on her daughter Zianne after she got divorced at 20: 'It was very painful for her'

Tannaz Irani, known for Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai and Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, discussed her difficult relationship with her eldest daughter, Zianne. She revealed that after her first marriage to Farid Currim ended, she left, causing emotional distress for Zianne. Tannaz described her actions as immature and callous.

On the A Inner Habit podcast, Tannaz shared that her relationship with her daughter Zianne, now 32, has healed over time. Looking back, Tannaz reflected on her decision to leave, acknowledging that while she was hurt and scared, she felt empowered and free to make her own choices.



Irani opened up about the emotional toll her divorce took on her daughter, particularly during an era when divorces were less frequent. She admitted to having been immature, prioritising her dreams while being young and irresponsible. She recognised that she hadn’t grasped the larger consequences of her actions at that time.

She also reflected on her past, acknowledging that she lacked guidance and didn't recognize the potential wrong in her actions. She admitted that no one had explained or discussed things with her, which led her to believe that her choices were acceptable, though she now realizes she may have been wrong.



The actress mentioned that she has since apologized to her daughter and had conversations with her. She noted that both of them are now in a better place, and she shares many things with her daughter that were missing during her earlier years, acknowledging how emotionally difficult those times were.

Tannaz Irani is currently married to Bakhtiyar Irani, and together they have two children, Zeus and Zara.
