Team Mission Mangal reveals details about their characters. Here's what Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan & others play in the film
After releasing the trailer of 'Mission Mangal', the team gave an insight into the film by introducing their character to the audience through their social media handles. Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menon, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi come together to be a part of the team of scientist from Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) who worked on the Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). Here's what they play:
Akshay wrote, “Meet Rakesh Dhawan-A bachelor of science who believes there's no science without experiment”, while Vidya said, “Presenting to you Tara Shinde- A scientist whose home game is unparalleled." Kirti will be seen playing scientist Neha Siddiqui.
Taapsee plays Kritika Aggarwal, while Nithya essays the role of Varsha Pillai.
Sonakshi is Eka Gandhi, while Sharman Joshi is the God-fearing Parmeshwar Naidu.
Speaking about the presence of so many stars on the sets at the same time, director Jagan Shakti said, “My cast came with no starry baggage and they didn’t treat me like a first-time director. We knew that there was room for on-the-spot improvement. That was inevitable with such big names on board and I’d be foolish to not take their inputs; in fact, I grabbed the inputs by the collar. But there was a rhythm that no one could break because that could impact the overall film and take away from what we intended to say. Fortunately, everyone got their parts correctly. And none of the actors were vying for extra screen time. The film is bigger than that for them. Today, nearly every actor knows that a character is far more important than screen time.”
