Rustom

', which is based on a true incident of 1959 when a Naval Commander shot his wife's lover, understood this fact and conducted a lot of research to ensure that they get the minutest details correct.

, a naval officer in the thriller, director Tinu Suresh Desai's team did an extensive recce of

Parsi

homes in Mumbai to recreate it for celluloid. A unit member says, 'Besides matching the exterior and interior of Akshay's house in the film, we made sure that even the small props on the sets looked authentic.' Moreover, vintage cars were also sourced for the shoot. However, the crew faced an uphill task while handling these vehicles as they would suddenly stop mid-way and had to be pushed manually to complete the shot.
