‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’: Emraan Hashmi discusses his viral scene with Raghav Juyal, reveals it was inspired by a real fan’s spontaneous singing moment
Aryan Khan’s series ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ has been on OTT for over a month now, steadily building popularity across various platforms. Interestingly, one particular moment has grabbed widespread attention online: Emraan Hashmi’s short but impactful cameo. His appearance has become a fan favorite, circulating widely on the internet, sparking a wave of excitement among viewers.
The memorable fan scene
A remarkable scene in the series features Raghav Juyal as an ardent fan of Emraan Hashmi. When he meets his idol for the first time, he spontaneously starts singing “Kaho Na Kaho” from Emraan’s movie ‘Murder’, leaving Emraan moved and speechless. In an interview with SCREEN, Emraan shared that this moment was inspired by a real-life incident, and that Aryan along with co-writers Manav Chauhan and Bilal Siddiqi brilliantly wove this true story into the script.
Hashmi shares behind-the-scenes inspiration
Emraan shared, “The writer is a very good friend of mine, Bilal. And I have a sneaky feeling that he’s actually taken it from one of my birthday celebrations I had with a fan, where he was also there. This was below my building, and you can see it on, it must be on YouTube also, there’s this fan who started off singing and just wouldn’t stop, and there was this embarrassed expression on my face. Bilal was there; I know he’s taken it from there only”.
The viral line and its impact
He also reflected on the incredible response his cameo has received, especially the now-famous line: “All of Bollywood on one side, Emraan Hashmi on the other”. The actor said that it’s amazing how this line caught on with people; it’s unbelievable. Emraan revealed that when he went to shoot in Bangkok, where there’s a significant Indian community, the line was viral there too.
