Almost everything, if we''re talking about Bollywood! Titles introduce a movie to the viewers and the more imaginative and curious the naam, the better.
Or so it would seem. Of late, film titles have alternated between crisp, one-worders (Bhoot, Andaaz, Khushi) to evocative sentiments (Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, Hum Ho Gaye Aapke, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain).

But in the context of the here and now, it''s the long and not the short of it which seems to be the flavour of the coming season. While Anil Sharma''s next venture after Gadar and The Hero is called Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon, Milind Soman''s first movie as a producer is titled Rules: Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula.

Antara Mali''s much-talked about clone job will see the light of day in Chandan Arora''s Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon, while rumours abound of Ram Gopal Verma producing a film grandiosely titled Chala Vinay Tiwari Film Banane. There is also Gurang Doshi''s Deewar: Let''s Bring Our Heroes Home and Rahul Rawail''s Jo Bole So Nihal, which stars Sunny Deol.

"Ab Tumhare... highlights the sense of pride in serving your nation. The title is the chief emotion of an Armyman when he dies in the line of duty. Nothing else could have been more appropriate," reveals Sharma, while reiterating, "a title plays an integral part in creating high recall value for a film, the length is immaterial." A sentiment which is echoed by director Chandan Arora. His film Main Madhuri..., scheduled to hit theatres in September, has generated a lot of interest. Likewise, Gurang Doshi''s Deewar... "is about honouring POWs."

Trade analysts believe that when the title of a film gives a measure of the storyline, the viewer does not go to the cinema hall with any false expectations. With all these movies with long-winding names readying for release, one thing''s for sure: we can almost certainly look forward to new bunch of acronyms -- ATHWS, RPKFS, MMDBCH, CTBFB, DLBOHH, JBSN.... NFTOO? (Now, figure that one out?), HVHF (Happy viewing, have fun)!
