Throwback: How Kareena Kapoor took charge of her love story with Saif Ali Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan’s love story stands out as one of the Bollywood’s most iconic romances till date. Their journey began in 2008 when the two were on the sets of 'Tashan,' where sparks flew between them. Eventually, her bond with Saif grew stronger on set, ultimately marking the beginning of a new chapter in her life.


In an earlier interview with Niranjan Iyer, Kareena shared that she took the initiative in their relationship. She recalled, “I knew I had to push the right buttons because Saif wasn’t the type to make the first move. He’s quite reserved and has this British sense of restraint." Kareena exclaimed about how Saif reacted when she expressed her feelings, He was taken aback and could'nt believe on Kareena's words. Saif was almost shocked and his life was like upside down as he kept asking Kareena "Why" to what she said. "I’m not sure if he thought he was lucky or simply shocked, but it all worked out beautifully in the end. I take full credit for starting things," said Kareena.

The couple dated for several years before tying the knot on October 16, 2012, in an intimate ceremony. Today, they are proud parents to two sons Taimur Ali Khan, born in 2016, and Jehangir Ali Khan, born in 2021.

Saif Ali Khan’s Close Brush with Danger

Recently, Saif faced a harrowing incident when he was attacked during a robbery at his Mumbai home. The terrifying event unfolded in the early hours of January 16. Around 2 AM, Saif heard commotion coming from Jeh’s room, where one of his female staff members was being assaulted by an intruder. Without hesitation, the actor intervened, leading to a violent altercation.

During the struggle, Saif sustained six stab wounds while trying to protect his employee. Both he and the injured staff member were rushed to the hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care, Saif has now returned home and was welcomed warmly by Kareena and their family.


The incident highlights not just Saif’s bravery but also the strong bond that ties the family together, even in the face of life-threatening adversity. Despite the challenges, Kareena and Saif continue to set an example of resilience and love, both in their personal lives and their journey together.
