"Unlucky since 19": Ranvir Shorey says, 'Not the right time to invest in love', gets candid on dating apps, love
Ranvir Shorey has always been known for his straightforward views, and in a recent conversation the actor once again spoke candidly, this time about love, dating, and why he believes relationships are in a “down market” right now.
Ranvir says it's not a good time to invest in love
When asked if he’s still open to dating, Ranvir admitted in an interview with Digital Commentary that he does have a profile on a dating app but stressed that he’s never been particularly lucky in love. “I’ve been unlucky since I was 19, and I continue to believe that,” he confessed. Reflecting on the current scenario of relationships, he explained how changing roles and expectations between men and women have created more distance than ever. Using a financial metaphor, he said, “When the market is down, an investor doesn’t put in money. This is that kind of time—don’t invest in love.”
Views on modern relationships
The actor also spoke about how relationships are no longer simple. He pointed to shocking real-life stories where marriages have turned violent, either due to extramarital ties or family disputes. Ranvir added that today’s social dynamics make it harder for men to question their partners’ choices, quipping, “These days, a wife can say her ex-boyfriend is also family, and ten people will support her.”
Ranvir's personal journey with love and marriage
Ranvir’s own history with relationships adds depth to his perspective. He was once in a long-term relationship with actress Pooja Bhatt before eventually parting ways. Later, he married Konkona Sen Sharma in 2010, and the couple welcomed a son, Haroon, in 2011. However, their marriage ended in separation in 2015 and divorce in 2020. Despite this, Ranvir maintains a humorous outlook, saying that instead of chasing love during this “mandi,” people should stay home and focus on things like bodybuilding.
On the work front, Ranvir Shorey was last seen in the TV series 'Bindiya Ke Bahubali.'
