The first song from ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’ is called ‘Challa’ and this track is high on patriotism. This inspirational number, which releases today, features the film’s lead Vicky Kaushal (as an army officer) leading a team of soldiers, preparing them for the surgical strike, with the emotion of avenging the killings of their fellow comrades. The song also features actors Mohit Raina, Yami Gautam and Kirti Kulhari in a few shots. ‘URI’, is based on the 2016 surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army in retaliation to a terror attack in the Kashmir region.

‘Challa’, has vocals by Romy, Vivek Hariharan and Shashwat Sachdev and this rousing number aims to evoke strong patriotic feelings within the listeners. Shashwat Sachdev has also composed the track with lyrics by Kumaar. The dialogue that’s been a highlight in the trailer of the film, where Vicky’s character says, ‘The Indian Army didn’t start this war, but we will bloody hell finish it,’ is also a big part of this new track.
