'Vadh 2' director Jaspal Singh Sandhu explains why Neena Gupta - Sanjay Mishra starrer is ‘not in-your-face humor’
Director Jaspal Singh Sandhu regards 'Vadh 2' as a finely crafted piece of entertainment, putting the spotlight on its stellar writing and performances rather than relying heavily on visual effects. This crime thriller navigates through its shadowy narrative while cleverly interspersing moments of situational humor, ensuring the audience remains enthralled.
Director Jaspal Singh Sandhu says ‘Vadh 2’ does not stick to a single dark tone. The filmmaker calls it “a complete entertainer” that leans on writing and performances, not spectacle. Though the story deals with crime, conspiracy, and justice, he says brief, situational laughs break the tension and hold attention.

'Vadh 2' murder mystery focuses on characters and performances

According to ANI, Sandhu said ‘Vadh 2’ is built on characters rather than spectacle. “Vadh 2 is a complete entertainer rooted in strong characters and performances,” he told the agency. He also pushed back on the idea that the film’s dark look defines its tone. “The trailer may have night-shots, but the film is a complete entertainer,” he said. “It’s dark at times, it’s funny at times, not in-your-face humor, but situational light moments.

He said the goal was to tell a fresh story while staying grounded in writing and character-driven tension.

'Vadh 2' cast reunites Sanjay Mishra and Neena Gupta

The film brings back Neena Gupta and Sanjay Mishra. Sandhu said the reunion was personal. “It was a selfish motive. I wanted to work with them again,” he said. They surrender themselves completely to the director,” he said. The cast also includes Kumud Mishra, Akshay Dogra, Amitt K Singh, Shilpa Shukla, and Yogita Bihani. Sandhu said the story needed more characters and credited the casting process. “The casting director played a crucial role,” he said, adding that each character helps move the mystery forward. He also clarified that ‘Vadh 2’ is a fictional film.On whether the story could continue, Sandhu said there is no plan yet. “Even Vadh 2 was not planned.
