Varun Dhawan wraps Amritsar shoot of ‘Border 2’, visits Golden temple; Shares village moments and Diljit bond

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has completed the Amritsar schedule of his much-awaited war epic 'Border 2'. The film’s team took to social media on Wednesday to share glimpses from the wrap-up celebrations. In a video from the sets, Varun Dhawan is seen exclaiming “It’s a wrap but Bharat Mata ki Jai” before cutting a cake, joined by producer Bhushan Kumar and actress Medha Rana. Following the shoot, the team also visited the Golden Temple to seek blessings, marking the end of the Amritsar leg on a spiritual note.

Varun Dhawan enjoys Punjab’s calm fields

Prior to the wrap, Varun shared peaceful moments from his time in rural areas of Punjab. Taking it on Instagram, he posted pictures of himself, wearing a simple white kurta-pajama, enjoying the calm beauty of green fields. While capturing the attraction of village life, he only captioned the post with "Punjab Punjab Punjab". These pictures gave the fans a glimpse of the comfortable moments of the actor amidst the days of the intense shoot.

Varun Dhawan shares farewell moment with Diljit Dosanjh

The actor has been regularly updating his fans with behind-the-scenes content from 'Border 2'. A few days ago, he posted a heartfelt video with co-star Diljit Dosanjh, hugging him on his last day of shoot. Along with the video, Varun wrote, “Diljit paaji ka shoot khatam hua, ladoo vi batt gaye... dosti da taste hi kuch aur hunda hai! Thank you paaji, I will miss you and the team.” The camaraderie between the stars has added to fans’ anticipation of seeing them on screen together.

'Border 2' draws from Kargil War

While the 1997 cult classic 'Border' was based on the Battle of Longewala, 'Border 2' is allegedly centered around the Kargil War of 1999. During the conflict, Pakistani troops crossed the Line of Control and captured strategic heights in Kargil district. India initiated a decisive military response to regain the region, and eventually re-achieved almost all. With the Border 2 set to release on January 23, 2026, the film has promised to mix patriotic enthusiasm, powerful performance, and high-doses, following the footsteps of its prestigious predecessor, which starred Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshay Khanna, and others.
