A day after
Vidya Balan was declared the brand ambassador of the UP government's women centric pension scheme, the actress announced on Saturday at an an event in Lucknow that she has also been roped in to be the brand ambassador of the
Central Silk Board
. The board wants to establish a mark for authentic
silk
products made in the country, on the lines of a Wool Mark.

'It always helps to promote a good cause through people like me who have a following. We get a a lot of exposure and when we talk of a cause that also automatically gets known. If my name gets associated with a good cause, where's the harm?' said the actor while talking about her association with causes as varied as World Wildlife Fund's Earth Hour Campaign in India and the central government's clean drinking water and sanitation programmes.
Vidya added that she already shot for a film for the promotion of the pension scheme.
