Vikram Bhatt reveals why he kept his marriage with Shwetambari Soni a secret for a year

Now, in an interview with a news portal, Vikram opened up about his secret

wedding

. He revealed that they got married in a private ceremony at his home with her three sisters and his family in attendance. The

director

also revealed that they initially had planned a grand wedding. However, the pandemic played spoilsport.



Talking about when they decided to take the plunge, Vikram revealed that they dated for three years after they first met in 2016. After that, they felt they were ready to take their relationship to the next level. The filmmaker’s father was hospitalised and needed an angioplasty. Shwetambari realised that if ever something happens to either of them, they wouldn’t be able to take the call unless they have legal rights.

Despite getting married, the couple kept their relationship under wraps for over a year as they were waiting until their kids approved. While Vikram has a daughter from his previous marriage, Shwetambari has two sons. Vikram also went on to say that at the age of 52, it is not a crazy love affair that they have but a "content and happy relationship."



Elaborating further about Shwetambari, Vikram said that what he loves about her is the fact she is intelligent and more frank than him. As she doesn’t belong to the world of entertainment, he loves going home to somebody who has been in a completely different world. The director added that he bounces his ideas off her as she is astute with stories. According to him, Shwetambari is honest with her feedback, especially if the story is "crap."
