Vindu Dara Singh wipes away tears as he reveals Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt motivated Mukul Dev to stay fit on 'Son of Sardaar 2' set: ‘Hum aadha ho gaye hain…’
Bollywood actor Mukul Dev passed away on May 23 at the age of 54. The news has sent a wave of grief through the film industry. Dev had recently completed filming 'Son of Sardaar 2', in which he reunited with actor Ajay Devgn. Now, at his funeral in Delhi, his friend—actor Vindu Dara Singh—was seen crying and remembering the 'Jai Ho' actor.
Vindu about Mukul's last days
The duo had shared screen space as Tony and Tito in 'Son of Sardaar', and they shared a great bond both on and off screen. Struggling to hold back tears, Vindu told media, “Hum aadha ho gaye hai. Tony (played by Mukul Dev) and Tito (played by Vindu Dara Singh) Son of Sardaar mein ek hai.” He was seen wiping his tears while interacting with the media after attending the funeral.
The sequel to 'Son of Sardaar' is set to hit theatres on July 25, and Vindu showered praise on Mukul’s performance in it. “Picture khatam ho gayi hai, 25 July ko lagegi. Aap sab usko pyaar de dena, has has ke pagal ho jaoge. Mujhe samajh nahi aata yeh hum sabko chhod ke chale gaye, lekin hum sab ke dil mein Mukul hai aur woh sadaiv amar rahega. Son of Sardaar 2 mein bahut hi kamaal ka kaam kiya hai.”
Vindu recounted how their co-stars encouraged Mukul to focus on his health during the filming in Scotland.
“August mein ek mahina humne shooting ki uske saath Scotland mein. Aur humne dekha ki usne weight gain kiya tha, toh exercise karayi Ajay Devgn ne. Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) bhi gusse mein aa gaya tha. Sab gusse mein aa gaye the. Aur woh exercise karne lag gaya.”
“Bahut fit karke bheja tha, phir wapas aa ke yahan weight gain kar liya. Ghar pe baitha rehta tha. Main cheez hai ki bahut saaf, achha aur nek insaan tha, bahut acche dil ka tha. Aap sab use pyaar de,” he concluded with teary eyes. Ajay Devgn also expressed his disbelief after hearing about the demise on his social media handle.

According to IANS, the actor’s passing occurred late on May 23. A close friend reportedly discovered the tragic news upon visiting his residence the following day. As of now, the exact cause of death remains undisclosed.
