In an interview with News18, the wedding filmmaker has spoken about his journey so far and his learnings from some people in the industry. Vishal revealed that Shah Rukh Khan has taught him to edit, exploit ideas, how to brainstorm ideas and put them down. He also revealed that he's a very good editor and taught him to edit movies.
Farah Khan had taught him to break down a scene and put things together. Vishal further revealed that he's shot the wedding scenes in Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor starrer, 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'. He shared that because Red Chillies Entertainment and Dharma Productions used to collaborate together on many things, he became friends with Ayan Mukerji. When he started his company, 'The Wedding Filmer', Ayan asked him to shoot the wedding scenes of 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani'. He revealed that his company crafted 'Kabira' from the film and that has formed the basis of every Indian wedding now.
Vishal has also shot Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's wedding apart from Dia Mirza's wedding video and Farhan Akhtar-Shibani Dandekar's wedding!
