Vishesh films has issued a statement with regards to one of the most celebrated franchises ‘Aashiqui’. In September last year, they had announced Aashiqui 3 with Kartik Aaryan in the lead. And now, the makers have issued a public notice warning everyone to not trust any ‘individuals and companies’ making claims about the movie.
Their statement read, “It has come to our notice that a campaign of misrepresentation and misinformation is being carried out by individuals, groups and organisations making unsubstantiated claims on behalf of our company or our franchise, Aashiqui. Vishesh Films is known to have a strong brand of launching young talent and protecting their interests and want to prevent them from becoming victims to third parties unknowingly. Hence, in public interest and being a responsible legacy studio and production house we issued the public notice to protect and make individuals and companies aware to not trust anything that is not directly or officially from Vishesh Films and treat them as false claims.” There is no clarity as to who this is aimed at.
Aashiqui 3 will feature Kartik Aaryan in the lead with Anurag Basu taking over the directorial reins. The film is being jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt, with Pritam doing the music. Announcing the film, Kartik had shared last year, "Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum #Aashiqui3 This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da." The leading lady opposite Kartik Aaryan is yet to be announced.
Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, the original Aashiqui released in 1990 and starrer Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal. The duo became an overnight sensation with the film's music being considered iconic. The second part released in 2013, it was helmed by Mohit Suri and featured Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur.
