Want to know why Madhuri agreed to do 'Kalank' with Sanjay Dutt?

There's a lot of buzz about Karan Johar's '

Kalank

' which will see Madhuri Dixit reunite with Sanjay Dutt after over 20 years. As per a site, the actress said yes to be a part of the film as there were no close-up scenes that were written between her and Dutt.

The two are said to be ex-flames and when news of KJo's magnum opus broke, it certainly created a virtual storm. Madhuri and Sanjay have earlier shared screen space in 'Saajan' and 'Khalnayak' among other films.
A source also put the curiosity to rest by adding that there are not many scenes of the two together even though they are paired opposite each other. Apparently, Madhuri insisted on the same and the story was penned in a way to fit into her demand.
The news is known now that earlier, it was late actress Sridevi who was to be paired opposite Dutt in this movie, but after her sudden demise, Madhuri stepped in to take up the role.
Meanwhile, 'Kalank', directed by Abhishek Varman, will see an huge cast, including Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur in the leads. Karan told a daily that 'Kalank' has been an emotional journey for him. He said that it was an idea that he had almost 15 years ago and was a film that was in pre-production stage helmed by his father. He also said it is beautifully structured by Shibani Bathija and that it has an exceptionally fluid narrative and screenplay by Abhishek.
'Kalank' will be jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
