The Independence Day weekend box office clash between War 2 and Coolie on August 14 turned into one of the biggest showdowns of 2025. The sequel to War (2019) — and the sixth film in the YRF Spy Universe — received a mixed response from audiences during its theatrical run. Now, fans are eagerly waiting for its OTT release. While the makers have confirmed a digital debut, the platform and date are yet to be announced.

War 2 will be streaming on Netflix, confirmed as the official OTT partner in the film’s theatrical version. While the exact release date hasn’t been officially announced, a typical theatrical-to-digital window of six to eight weeks suggests fans can expect Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani’s action thriller on Netflix sometime between September 25 and October 9.

War 2 follows Kabir (Hrithik Roshan), a former RAW agent who has gone rogue and is now being hunted by the Indian government. Major Vikram (Jr NTR), a skilled but self-centered officer, is given the tough mission of stopping Kabir, with whom he shares a troubled past. Kavya (Kiara Advani), daughter of Colonel Luthra (Ashutosh Rana), also has an old connection with Kabir, as they were romantically involved 15 years ago. The big question is—who will win this battle? The film also introduces Anil Kapoor to the YRF Spy Universe as Vikrant Kaul, the new RAW chief.
