‘Was making vulgar comments’: Paresh Rawal hit a man with a stone during a play, reveals theatre owners refused to let him perform again
Paresh Rawal, one of Bollywood’s most loved comic actors, has proved time and again that laughter is his superpower, but even the funniest man can have moments of fury. Known for his unforgettable performances in films like ‘Hera Pheri,’ ‘Hungama,’ and more, he has now shared some surprising memories of when his temper took over.
The ‘Welcome’ actor admitted that he only hit the man a few times before returning to the stage. “They got even more riled up that he struck and went back on stage. Then it took off,” he added. The situation quickly turned chaotic, but Rawal stood by his reaction.
The actor also revealed that his father had a short temper, though he admitted his own anger tends to be “more violent.” He feels that people today get angry much faster than before. “Anger also happens when you don’t get something. It’s also there because of uncertainty. When will things get right? Thirdly, you want to assert yourself and prove a point that I’m also something. There’s a fashion of getting hurt and angry. They feel it’s a privilege, and they want to encash that. Some people may be having a reason also,” he said.

Rawal reflected on where his anger stems from. He said, “Hurt has different reactions—either I become submissive, morose, or aggressive.
