Raveena Tandon believes the glamour of the ‘90s was all about originality and setting trends that continue to inspire people even today. Reflecting on the era, the actress said at an event, “We ‘90s women were the trendsetters. I think the trends that we set were all there, and everyone had a different individuality. To a certain extent, each one of us followed our own thing, and that’s what set us apart from the other.”
She pointed out that fashion works in cycles, resurfacing every two decades or so. “Today, there is amazing Gen Z fashion, but it’s all a cycle — it comes and goes. It’s a 20 or 25-year-old cycle where everything makes a comeback,” she shared.
Drawing a parallel between her style then and what her daughter Rasha, who made her acting debut this year, wears now, Raveena added, “What I see my daughter wear now, I have worn all of it in the ‘90s. Those high-waisted jeans, crop tops and hoops have never really gone out. You call it revival, and I call it a cycle — it just keeps coming back.”
With her signature mix of glamour and confidence, Raveena believes that the individuality of ‘90s actresses laid the foundation for trends that still hold strong in today’s fashion world.
