When 'Dhurandhar' star Akshaye Khanna revealed why he couldn't date Katrina Kaif or Bipasha Basu: 'They already have boyfriends'

Starring as the menancing Rehman Dakait, Akshaye Khanna has hogged headlines and how, right from the viral entry sequence on Baharaini rapper 'Flipperachi's 'FA9LA' song to his brilliant portrayal. Known to be a recluse off-screen, there has been a growing interest in his personal life. A throwback interview of Khanna's answering questions on his dating life and views on marriage has now gained traction. The star made hilarious quips to suggestions that he should pursue his co-stars, Bipasha Basu or Katrina Kaif.

In a 2007 interview with Hindustan Times, the topic of dating Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif was brought up as the actor was preparing for a work trip to South Africa. Khanna replied, "Yes. So what do I do with them? They already have boyfriends."




For the unversed, Akshaye Khanna has shared screen space with Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif in Abbas-Mustan's 2008 action crime film, 'Race.'

The interviewer then playfully suggested he could "whisk them away," the 'Taal' actor quipped, "Why don’t you do that?"

Khanna is known for guarding his personal life, fiercely so. He has since then expressed that he doesn't see himself as "marriage material."

In the same interview, he was asked about his bachelorhood status. Khanna answered, "I don’t know. I hope not really… but I don’t have any set image for the woman I’ll marry... she doesn’t have to have black hair, beautiful eyes, that sort of stuff."

When asked about his potential wife, Khanna had cited, "As long as she’s a great cook, I’ll marry her."
