When Salman Khan admitted to creating a dramatic scene outside Aishwarya Rai's residence: 'If you don't fight, there's no love'

Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s relationship remains one of the most high-profile and controversial romances in Bollywood history. While both stars have since carved independent paths in their personal and professional lives, their time together serves as a cautionary tale of love, fame, and the challenges that come with both.

In a candid 2011 interview with Bombay Times, Salman shed light on his relationship with Aishwarya Rai and the incidents that made headlines during their time together. A particularly dark chapter unfolded one November night in 2001.

According to eyewitness accounts reported by Bombay Times, Salman created a dramatic scene outside Aishwarya's residence at Gorakh Hill Tower. The actor reportedly banged on her door relentlessly and, in an emotional outburst, threatened to jump off the 17th floor if Aishwarya refused to let him in. The altercation ended with Salman gaining entry into her apartment around 3 a.m., but the incident left a lasting mark on their relationship and public perception.

Reflecting on the turbulence, Salman admitted, “Yes, yes, there is truth (in these reports). But they are all exaggerated. I'm having a relationship with her. But if you don't fight, there's no love... Whatever fighting and possessiveness is there from my side and hers is all out of love... But I banged my car. I have now been told by the cops not to go to her building.”




Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai reportedly began dating during the filming of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Their chemistry in the film mirrored their real-life romance, making them one of Bollywood's most talked-about couples.

In 2002, Aishwarya confirmed their breakup, citing abuse and harassment as reasons. In a statement, she said, "After we broke up, he would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected me of having affairs with my co-stars. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. And I would go to work as if nothing had happened."



Both have moved on both professionally and personally. Aishwarya is happily married to Abhishek Bachchan, and together they have a daughter named Aaradhya. Meanwhile, Salman has remained single to this day.
