When Sanjay Dutt recalled the fan who left him Rs 150 crore worth of property after her death, 'She had buildings in South Bombay'
Sanjay Dutt, known for films like 'Naam', 'Saajan', 'Khalnayak', 'Vaastav', and 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.', has cemented his place in Hindi cinema. Decades of work earned him not just fame, but fierce loyalty from fans. On an old episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, Dutt opened up about one such act of devotion that shocked even him. He spoke about a fan who left her entire property to him after her death.
That was when he learned that a woman had passed away and named him the sole heir to her estate. “I checked it out; she had buildings in South Bombay. The total property must’ve been worth Rs 150 crore,” he said.
The decision followed naturally. “I returned the property to her family, under the condition that it should be used properly. There are all kinds of fans,” he added.
The sequel to the film is slated for release on March 19, 2026, and will clash with Kannada superstar Yash’s 'Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups'.

A phone call he did not expect
When host Kapil Sharma brought up the 2018 incident, Dutt confirmed it without hesitation. The officers quickly reassured him. “They told me not to worry. They said it was a pleasant surprise,” Dutt shared. That was when he learned that a woman had passed away and named him the sole heir to her estate. “I checked it out; she had buildings in South Bombay. How he responded
Dutt made his position clear from the start. “I don’t know the lady,” he said, acknowledging that she must have been a devoted admirer. He did not see the inheritance as something he could accept. “I don’t have any right to her property,” he stated firmly. The decision followed naturally. “I returned the property to her family, under the condition that it should be used properly.
