Yes, you read that right! In an interview with a news portal before his death, Shashi Kapoor revealed that he fell in love with Jennifer the moment he saw her. He was 18 years old then. When he expressed his desire to marry her, his father Prithviraj felt he was too young for that.
After waiting for two more years, his father asked him if he still wanted to marry her, to which Shashi said he did. That was when his parents agreed to get them married. The couple had three kids – Karan, Kunal and Sanjana. Jennifer, unfortunately, passed away in 1984, leaving a void in his life. The late veteran actor never remarried. He reportedly said that he never married again because he never found anyone better. According to him, they didn’t make like that anymore.
In 2012, his son Kunal told a news portal it has been 28 years since his mother died but his father never completely recovered after her death. She died when she was 50 and he was 46. Kunal added that Shashi could have remarried but for him that was not an option. They were soulmates. According to him, every relationship has its share of problems but their connection was rare and unusually strong.
