When Sidharth Malhotra revealed he would get married only when he wanted to have babies: 'It would be unfair to the child'

Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra recently set social media abuzz with the announcement of their first pregnancy. The couple, who tied the knot in February 2023, received an outpouring of love and congratulations from Bollywood actors and fans alike. There was a time when Sidharth shared his thoughts on marriage and parenting.

In an old interview with DNA India, Sidharth was seen promoting his 2016 film 'Baar Baar Dekho', and the actor spoke candidly about his perspective on marriage. He acknowledged his belief in the institution, shaped by his upbringing in a middle-class environment where joint families were the norm. He believes that, in today’s age, marriage has become just a tagline.


“I think I will only get married when I want to have babies. Otherwise, it would be unfair to the child to not give him/her a name. Until then, it doesn’t matter. You can be with whoever you want to. Marriage is just a technicality; it doesn’t change your love for that person,” he stated.


Sidharth and Kiara shared the screen together in 'Shershaah', and the 2021 war drama, directed by Vishnuvardhan, made people shower love on their on-screen chemistry. They had an intimate wedding ceremony in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

Nearly two years later, the couple have now revealed that they are expecting their first child. Their Instagram post, featuring a pair of tiny baby socks, was captioned, "The greatest gift of our lives. Coming soon." Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Rakul Preet Singh, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and more shared their excitement for the news.

On the work front, Sidharth Malhotra has been busy filming his upcoming romantic comedy, 'Param Sundari', alongside Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Tushar Jalota, Param Sundari is set to hit theatres on July 25.

Meanwhile, Kiara Advani will be seen sharing the screen with Hrithik Roshan in 'War 2'.
