Back in 2021, during a chat with former English cricketer Mark Nicholas on his podcast, Virat got real about how much Anushka means to him — not just as a wife, but as his emotional rock. "From a mental point of view, I have a lot of conversations with my wife. Anushka and I have such great detailed conversations about the complexity of the mind and how it can pull you into negativity and what are the things that matter to put things into perspective," Virat shared.

That wasn’t all. The batting ace didn’t shy away from calling her exactly what she is in his life — a guiding light. "She has been a pillar of strength for me in that regard. Because she herself is at a level where she had to deal with a lot of that negativity. So she understands my situation and I understand her situation. And to be able to have a life partner that understands exactly what you are thinking, feeling and what you are going through, I do not quite know if I would have had that clarity if she was not in my life," he added.
From a shampoo Ad to a fairytale wedding
Their love story began in 2013 on the set of a shampoo ad, and sparks flew instantly; then what started as a casual workday turned into a beautiful romance. The two kept their relationship fairly private in the early days, but their chemistry was hard to miss.

In December 2017, they tied the knot in a dreamy wedding in Italy, far from the flashing cameras and media buzz. Since then, they’ve been setting couple goals — whether it's holidaying together, celebrating wins, or just supporting one another at every turn. Virushka’s life got even sweeter with the arrival of their daughter Vamika in January 2021. And in February 2024, they became parents again to a baby boy named Akaay.
