Who is Anand Ahuja? All you need to know about Sonam Kapoor's husband

Anand Ahuja is the founder of the sought-after clothing brand Bhane. After Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor started dating Anand, she was spotted wearing the brand at a number of events. Anand is a Delhi-based businessman, who started India's first multi-brand sneaker boutique, VegNonVeg.



Anand is the grandson of Harish Ahuja, who runs the country's largest export house. Anand is also the managing director at Shahi Exports, which reportedly has an annual turnover of Rs 3,000 crore.

This young entrepreneur did his schooling from American Embassy School, Delhi and later completed his post-graduation from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He worked as an intern with Amazon.com in America before heading back to Delhi and joining his dad in his business ventures.

As per rumours, Anand Ahuja met Sonam Kapoor in 2014 through fashion designer Prernia Qureshi, who is Sonam’s personal stylist. He is said to have proposed Sonam within a month of their first meeting. Time and again, Anand shares Sonam’s pictures and promotes her films on his Instagram handle.

After a lot of speculations about the couple’s marriage, their families announced their wedding date on May 2, 2018.

The official statement said that Sonam Kapoor is marrying her boyfriend Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018, in a private ceremony in Mumbai. The couple is likely to have two reception parties, one in Mumbai, where Sonam's friends and family are, and one in Delhi, where Anand is based.

The festivities of their marriage were held over for two days and there were three separate functions scheduled. On May 7, the Kapoors and Ahujas hosted a mehendi ceremony and on May 8, the wedding and a party.

Early reports suggest that after the wedding with Anand, Sonam will fly to the Cannes International Film Festival where she is walking the red carpet this year as well. Post which, Sonam will get back to the promotions of her upcoming film Veere Di Wedding.
