It takes something to get the nod from
Akshaye Khanna, an actor who completely follows his instinct and bases his decision on the writing on paper. He has had two releases this year,
The Accidental Prime Minister
and Section 375, both of which won him heaps of praises from the critics and the audience. In the first, he played a role modelled
Sanjaya Baru
and the latter, a sharp lawyer defending a rape accused. The actor’s next,
Sab Kushal Mangal
, directed by Karan V Kashyap, will be the first release of the new decade and year 2020. Toplining newcomers
Priyaank Sharma
and Riva Kisan, the film is a comedy of errors.
Talking about the film’s script, the actor told BT, “It's one of those scripts where I could go for the narration multiple times. Karan is a very good narrator and he’s truly gifted in that space. Plus, the story is so clean and sweet that you won't wince even once while hearing it or watching it for that matter. That’s rare. Narrations can be so monotonous and boring. That happens if the material is terrible or the narrator doesn’t know what to do with the material. The thing is, some of the most talented directors are disasters at narrations, and if they recognise it, they get their writers along to do the talking.”
