Will Vidhu Vinod Chopra's '12th Fail' secure a spot on the Oscar's Best Feature shortlist?

Vidhu Vinod Chopra's project '12th Fail' is on the list to be shortlisted for the Oscar's Best Feature shortlist. The selection process for this category is highly competitive, considering various factors like the film's quality, critical reception, and the level of competition in a particular year.

Commenting on the same, Producer Sheetal Talwar said, "I think it has the potential to make the cut - it’s a film that speaks our language, our aspirations, with our grammar and is reflective of the times. There are a couple of more films that are on the list, including Tovino Thomas' 2018 and their fate will be decided this evening."

There are two more films that in the general entry list of the Oscars, which includes The Face of the Faceless which is based on the life of young nun Rani Maria Vattalil, and the other is Online Blues.

Oscar committee member Ujwal Nirgudkar said, "It is going to tough, as our films will have to compete with 264 films that are from various parts of the world. Big studios have their marketing, which may not be the case for Indian films."
