On Wednesday, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) announced the withdrawal of its non-cooperation directive against actor
Ranveer Singh, which was issued in response to his abrupt departure from ‘Don 3’. The directive followed a complaint filed by
Farhan Akhtar, who alleged that the actor's exit from the project caused losses amounting to nearly Rs 45 crore.
CINTAA's Upasana Singh backs Ranveer Singh, urges FWICE to lift ban
CINTAA General Secretary and actress Upasana Singh, who was also present at the press conference, threw her weight behind Ranveer. She pointed out that his recent back-to-back hits, ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, gave the struggling film industry a much-needed shot in the arm when several films were failing to perform. She also revealed that she had personally urged FWICE to reconsider its decision and lift the ban on the actor.
The actress said, "Ranveer Singh aise actor hai jisne industry ko khada kar diya hai. Kitni filmein flop hui hai aur humari industry kis halaton se guzar rahi hai, aur unki Dhurandhar & Dhurandhar 2 ne jo business kiya hai, unhone history bana diya hai. Aise actors ki bohot zarurat hai, jinki filmein log like karein... "
Upasana Singh says Ranveer Singh's success benefits every crew member behind the scenes
Upasana drove her point home with a personal story, her son has watched ‘Dhurandhar’ five times and still wants more, which she says speaks volumes about the film's pull with audiences. But she also made a bigger point: a film's success isn't just about the stars or the producers. It trickles down to every spot boy, cameraman, lightman, technician, and crew member who works tirelessly behind the scenes. "Aisi filmein banni chaiye, humari best wishes hai Ranveer ji ko, ki woh issi tarah hit-hit filmein deti rahe industry ko. Humari industry mein bhi itna paise generate hota hai, woh humare liye Dhurandhar hai," said Upasana.
