​World Bicycle Day: Bollywood celebs who ditched their bikes to ride a bicycle on the silver screen

From working out in the gym to pilates, Bollywood celebrities are always experimenting with ways of keeping in shape. Everyone has their own style of working out but it looks like people have started taking up cycling up as well.

From Salman Khan to Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan, these stars are often snapped cycling in the city and this love for cycling seems to have transcended to the silver screen with more and more films featuring a cycling scene in it. Here is a list of popular actors who have cycled on the celluloid.

​Salman Khan

Salman Khan is one of the most popular Bollywood actor, who is known for his unconventional style which even includes ditching his swanky mean machines and opt for a cycle his way to film sets. Not only that but the Bhaijaan of Bollywood, who is often clicked paddling around the city has also cycled in several Bollywood films till date. But Salman took his love for cycling to the next level when he performed a dangerous screen in 2014 film 'Kick' on a bicycle, leaving all his fans stunned.

​Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan, who has ruled Bollywood for decades, too showed his cycling skills in Shoojit Sircar's film 'Piku'. Big B essayed the character of an old man suffering from chronic constipation with Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan too bringing their A-game on display. While the film revolved around the bond between a father-daughter, Big B paddled through the beautiful city of Kolkata in this masterpiece, giving us all major fitness goals.

​Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor is a known sports enthusiast, who is often snapped playing football with his friends in the city. The talented actor, who essayed the character of Murphy Johnson aka Barfi on the silver screen in Anurag Basu's 'Barfi!' used the bicycle as the main mode of transport for his character on the silver screen. From his close encounters with the police to romantic rides with Ileana D'Cruz in the woods, Ranbir's love for a bicycle was quite evident on the celluloid.

​Anushka Sharma-Ranveer Singh

Popular on-screen pair of Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma teamed up for the third time and set the screen ablaze with their impeccable chemistry. The duo's first date in Zoya Akhtar's 'Dil Dhadakne Do' featured an amazing bicycle race scene between the two on the pretty streets of Istanbul. Not only that but the joy of paddling through a busy street at full speed was quite visible on their face.

​Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor Khan

Ace filmmaker Imtiaz Ali's blockbuster 'Jab We Met' which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan in the lead roles, featured them paddling away in the bylanes of one of the most beautiful cities in the song 'Aao Milo Chalen'. While Shahid-Bebo's impeccable chemistry in the film left everyone impressed, this cycling scene from the song is sure to have struck a chord with cycling lovers.
