World Environment Day: Bhumi Pednekar says now people understand that climate change is the largest threat looming over humanity

Bhumi Pednekar is one of the

stars who never fear speaking their mind on any subject. Thus, on the occasion of World Environment Day, she had a chat with a news portal wherein she talked about being environmentally conscious and how has been the journey so far.

The actress said that subconsciously she had been working towards the cause since her school days. However, back then she didn’t have many like-minded people with whom she could talk on the subject, and thus, it was a lonely journey for her. Fortunately, now people are more aware and understand the fact that climate change is real.


Further, recently, Bhumi also organized a plantation drive along with a children’s NGO. She said that now more and more people understand that climate change is the largest threat looming over humanity. People are recognizing that all the humanitarian crises, be it in form of a virus outbreak or floor are a result of climate change only.

She also explained that in less than half a year, we have seen heat waves, early monsoons, floods, and droughts, which are nothing but the result of a deteriorating environmental balance.
