Zayed Khan opens up on Hrithik Roshan and sister Sussanne Khan’s bond after divorce: 'I don’t expect everybody to understand'

Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan may have parted ways over a decade ago, but their friendship and co-parenting journey continue to turn heads. Despite the divorce, the two share a warm, cordial relationship while raising their sons Hrehaan and Hridhaan. Sussanne’s brother, actor Zayed Khan, recently spoke about their unique equation.

Zayed has known Hrithik for a long time

In an interview with Vickey Lalwani, Zayed revealed that he has known Hrithik since they were 12 years old, even before Hrithik became close to his sister. Reflecting on their relationship, Zayed said, “My family has always stood for love, always stood for what my child has chosen must be right. The whole world knows what has happened and where we are right now, so we’ll skip all that. I don’t expect everybody to understand. She is the master of her decision. I’m all the more happy she’s found love again. We are happy, and that’s all that matters.”

Zayed recalls Karan Johar rapid-fire moment

Zayed also spoke about a fun memory from the past, when he was asked to choose between Hrithik and Shah Rukh Khan during a rapid-fire round on 'Koffee with Karan'. He said, “I remember once when I was on Koffee with Karan, and he asked me Hrithik or Shah Rukh. When you’re young, you don’t realise, and I said Shah Rukh at that time because I was working with him. Those are the moments I wish I had just kept quiet. Because do people feel bad? Of course. I remember when I went back home, my sister looked at me like, hmm. They were married at that time. Hrithik is a mature chap; he never nudged me because he’s not a petty person at all.”

Hrithik and Sussanne’s relationship

Hrithik and Sussanne dated before marrying in a private ceremony in Bengaluru on 20 December 2000. The couple welcomed their sons, Hrehaan in 2006 and Hridhaan in 2008. However, they eventually got divorce in November 2014.

Both have found new partners

Since their separation, both Hrithik and Sussanne have moved on. Hrithik has been dating actor Saba Azad, while Sussanne is in a relationship with Arslan Goni. Despite new relationships, the four often appear together at parties and also post photos on social media.
