Amrita Singh for 2 States
Karan Johar's 2 States starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is based on Chetan Bhagat's novel. Amrita Singh smartly pulled off the role of a loud Punjabi lady in the film. As Kavita, she convinces the audience with her dislike for South Indians. Before quitting acting in the year 1993, Amrita Singh had won the Best Supporting Actress Award for her portrayal of Roma Mathur in the film, Aaina. She was nominated for Kalyug in 2002 and has been nominated in the same category, once again. Hope history repeats itself.

Dimple Kapadia for Finding Fanny
Homi Adajania and and Dinesh Vijan's Finding Fanny took Dimple Kapadia back to Goa after her debut in Rishi Kapoor-starrer Bobby. The film had managed to make Dimple Kapadia a sex symbol at the age of 16 while her character in Finding Fanny made her 'Boba,' as claimed by Dimple in an interview with The Times Of India. Dimple Kapadia had won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for Bobby and Sagar in the '80s, followed by two more Filmfare Awards over the years. This year she has been nominated under the Best Supporting Actress Award category for Finding Fanny. Will she take away her 5th Black Lady?

Juhi Chawla for Gulaab Gang
In an interview with Karan Johar on his TV show, Koffee With Karan, Juhi Chawla had revealed that she did Gulaab Gang just because Madhuri was in it. Juhi Chawla imbibed the mannerism and dressing style of leading women politicians like Sonia Gandhi, Sushma Swaraj and Mamata Banerjee for her role in the film. The actress who is usually seen in a bubbly avatar took on the rather gray role as a challenge. Juhi Chawla has received 9 Filmfare Awards till date and we really hope she makes it 10 this year!
