Actors who can replace Hrithik Roshan in ‘Shuddhi’

Karan Johar’s dream project 'Shuddhi' has been jinxed due to casting issues. Initially Hrithik Roshan was signed to play the lead role and Karan did a casting coup of sorts by pairing him with the equally hot Kareena Kapoor. However, both of them quit due to personal reasons. Though many names have been considered to replace Hrithik in this reincarnation film, we have zeroed in on a few actors who we believe can do justice to the script and match Hrithik’s charisma. 

Shah Rukh Khan: Since Hrithik Roshan refused to do ‘Shuddhi’, Karan Johar has decided to sign on his best buddy Shah Rukh Khan for the film. Both SRK and KJo have delivered several hits and are very comfortable with each other. Shahrukh has the charisma and his quintessential lover-boy image will do justice to the script, which is a love saga set in the backdrop of reincarnation. Shahrukh Khan’s career graph is on a high after his blockbuster ‘Chennai Express’. However, what will be interesting to see is if SRK stepping into Hrithik’s shoes will create any difference between the two buddies. That is something only time will tell.

Arjun Rampal: Be it his deadly looks, his attitude or a body to die for, Arjun Rampal has it all. He is the only actor who can match Hrithik’s Greek God looks, style and charisma. Though the dashing actor has essayed the role of a social activist, a villain, a self-obsessed actor and a RAW agent, it would be interesting to see him playing the role of a lover-boy. Also with the sex appeal oozing from him, the movie will indeed be very popular among girls. Also with the whole Hrithik-Sussanne separation controversy, Arjun stepping into Hrithik’s shoes will give the movie all the publicity it requires.

Ranbir Kapoor: Not only has lead actor Hrithik Roshan walked out of the project, the original choice of the lead actress, Kareena Kapoor, is also not a part of this ambitious project. Rumours suggest that the current numero uno actress Deepika Padukone has been signed for the movie. If the leading lady is Deepika, it makes perfect sense for Karan Johar to pair her with Ranbir Kapoor. Both of them look great onscreen and have delivered a hit recently. Karan can take the risk of repeating the ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ jodi who will surely set the cash box ringing.  

Ranveer Singh: He has the looks, the body and a flirtatious nature that will make him the perfect fit for this love saga. Also since his alleged girlfriend Deepika Padukone has been reportedly signed as the lead actress of the movie, Ranveer will also score in the chemistry department. He has already shown his acting prowess in movies like ‘Lootera’ and ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’. With his rising career graph, Ranveer will also be a suitable candidate for ‘Shuddhi’.

Akshay Kumar: The dashing ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood can act, fight, make you laugh, emote as well as make you fall in love. Akshay will be a suitable replacement for Hrithik as he has the looks and stature. He looks great with Deepika Padukone. Also since the actor has never done a movie with Karan Johar, Shuddhi will be a great platform to team up a talented director with a very talented actor. Also Akshay can carry off the role of a lover-boy with élan. And hence that makes him a suitable choice for ‘Shuddhi’.
