Bollywood actors who experimented with their looks

Of late, Anushka Sharma has not only been experimenting with her films but also on her looks. While we last saw her sporting a scary avatar in ‘Pari’, she is all set to don a de-glam avatar in her next, ‘Sui Dhaaga’. A new picture of the actress has surfaced online and it is most definitely piquing on the interest of the fans.

The picture circulating on the internet has Anushka Sharma, dressed unrecognisably, as an old woman. Donning a salvar-kameez, pearl earring and her visibly grey hair tied into a half pony, Anushka’s transformation has surely raised the curiosity level among the fans.

The make-up artist is seen giving some final touches to her look as she gears up for her shot. Although it is still not clear as to why the actress has donned this avatar, we still cannot wait to see the actress pull off yet another challenge.

After showing off her calibre in two of her home production ‘NH10’ and ‘Phillauri’, Anushka Sharma is back with her third venture ‘Pari’. Her character and look in this upcoming horror film has had audience hooked in anticipation.
Although not much is known about her character in the film and the storyline, if the trailer and screamers are anything to go by, Anushka seems to be playing a double role in the film.
While we wait with bated breath to find that out, we managed to get some details about her character and her look. Speaking about the same, British Prosthetic designer Clover Woottoon stated, “There are many shades to Anushka’s character in ‘Pari’. But, most importantly, we wanted people to forget Anushka the person, and think about Rukhsana (her character) alone. Anushka being a strikingly pretty face, we didn’t do too much with her. We just made her eyebrows bushier, added lenses and darkened the under eyes so that she looked more tired. We blurred the edge of her lips so that it looks drier and that is literally all that we did. Depending on the scene requirements we made her cheeks a little pinker but that’s about it…nothing more was done and yet, she looked so different!”
‘Pari’ is slated to release on March 2, 2018.

Multiple Filmfare award winning Vidya Balan put in another impressive transformation for ‘Begum Jaan’, which released earlier this year. She deviated a bit from her dishevelled avatar in ‘Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh’ and toughed up her look to fit in as an intimidating madam at a brothel in this India-Pakistan partition drama.

With his debut production ‘Jagga Jasoos’ up for a release, finally after almost three years in the making, Ranbir Kapoor plays an 18-year-old in the film. If this wasn’t enough, Ranbir has immersed himself completely as Sanjay Dutt for a biopic on the actor’s life.

Dinesh Vijan’s reincarnation drama ‘Raabta’ saw its protagonists, Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon, go through centuries of transformation in their love story. Kriti and Sushant appeared extremely different as they played bohemians with dreadlocks in this particular part of the film.

Known for choosing interesting and diverse roles, Sayani Gupta was almost unrecognizable in her turn as a distressed pregnant woman in a completely Indian look in Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Jolly LLB 2’. Sayani made heads turn in a still from ‘Jagga Jasoos’ as a 14-year-old.

Never the one to shy away from playing varied and nuanced characters, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has already had three Bollywood releases to his name – ‘Raees’, ‘Haraamkhor’ and ‘Mom’. The actor, who started his career with almost stereotypical roles as a goon, has displayed immense range with every film that he’s signed. His different looks for ‘Raees’, ‘Mom’, ‘Manto’ and ‘Munna Michael’ had everyone in awe.
