Sidharth Malhotra gets slammed by Neetu Chandra for insulting Bhojpuri language, apologises

Sidharth Malhotra is currently promoting his upcoming thriller ‘Aiyaary’ which is expected to hit the theatres on February 9. However, the actor seems to have stepped on the wrong foot while promoting the film on ‘Bigg Boss 11’ along with co-star Manoj Bajpayee.

Salman Khan had given the actors the task of repeating his dialogue from ‘Dabangg’ in Bhojpuri which Sidharth promptly tried. However, he confessed to getting a 'latrine-kind' of feeling on doing the same. His comment seems to have not gone down well with some.

Actress Neetu Chandra, whose mother tongue happens to be Bhojpuri, recently took to her twitter handle and slammed the actor. She wrote, “So disappointed @S1dharthM some1who is so fortunate 2 work wd d best. Who despite being an outsider has made a name 4 himself,4 U 2 use ur words so loosely.2 disrespect #Bhojpuri on national TV. SHOCKED! How on earth does speaking in #Bhojpuri gives u a latrine feeling. Shame on U.”

Taking a note of the situation, Sidharth took to his micro-blogging handle to apologise. He wrote, “I recently tried speaking a new language while I was on a TV show. In the process, if I inadvertently hurt anyone's feelings or sentiments, I apologise and assure you that no disrespect was meant in any way.”

Kirron Kher claims her statement on Chandigarh gangrape was politicised

Actor and Member of Parliament (MP) Kirron Kher had said at a press conference that the Chandigarh gangrape victim should not have got into an autorickshaw in which three men were already seated. She was widely trolled on social media platforms for her remark, with many commenting that instead of ‘advising’ the girl, she should have advised the law enforcement agencies to improve law and order situation.

Speaking to ANI, the parliamentarian said the opposition was trying to give it a political colour, which was unfortunate. "It is very unfortunate that in our country, every statement is politicised. I am a woman and a mother and I have always spoken up for women's rights whether it is in the Parliament or outside. I think to give this a political colour is very unfortunate. It is in extreme poor taste to politicise these things. I am only looking to the security of the girls of the city," she said.

The BJP MP further asked all women to protect themselves and take certain precautions to avert such incidents. "I would like to tell all the women that the Chandigarh Police provides you with the facility that if you are in a place where you are unable to find a public transport then you can dial 100. The police will then send a PCR to pick you up and drop you to your residence. So I think you should avail this facility. We also have smartphones with which we can click a picture of the number plate of the autorickshaws or of the drivers. We have to learn how to look after ourselves. I am saying these things as a mother, not as a politician," she added.
