Sharman Joshi's unique promotional strategy for his next film 'Kaashi In Search of Ganga'

Sharman Joshi is going all out for the promotion of his upcoming film 'Kaashi in Search of Ganga'. The actor has been visiting different places and sticking posters of his missing onscreen sister Ganga and asking for her whereabouts.

Reportedly, the film set in Varanasi revolves around brother (Kaashi) and his sister (Ganga). He even shared the wanted poster on his Twitter account. He tweeted, "Streets and alleys of different cities and social media are abuzz with"Missing: Kaashi Searches For His Sister Ganga". Let me introduce you to Kaashi,Well! That’s me in my upcoming film #KaashiInSearchofGanga. Do help me find my sister. Film

in cinemas on 26th October."

Talking about his character Sharman had said that he just wanted to make sure the city like outlook did not get into his character. He wanted to be as authentic as one good. He added he wanted people to feel the pain of the character he portrayed.

Helmed by Dhiraj Kumar, the film also stars Aishwarya Devan, Govind Namdev, Akhilendra Mishra, Manoj Joshi and Manoj Pahwa in pivotal roles. The film will hit the theatres on 26th October.

‘AndhaDhun’: Ayushmann Khurrana and Tabu to not promote the film together

Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu is all set to sizzle in Sriram Raghavan’s yet another gripping tale titled, ‘AndhaDhun’. The director, who believes that the appeal of a thriller lies in its plot, has apparently asked Ayushmann and Tabu to stay true to their characters and not promote the film together.

According to the reports, Khurrana and Tabu, who play rivals in the movie, have been issued a diktat to stay true to their on-screen equation and not promote the film together. Raghavan reportedly does not want the stars to unintentionally let out the hint about the plot. So he has apparently decided to go easy on the promotions.

As Tabu and Ayushmann are pitted against each other in the film, the filmmaker does not want them to be seen together at public events to maintain the impact of their onscreen rivalry. Owing to this, the actors will be making appearances at separate promotional events.

Bollywood is heading to an all new revolution in its promotional strategies for films. B-town stars are now devising new ways of promoting their films other than simple press conferences and public appearances. Leading the pack is Priyanka Chopra who recently accepted Hrithik Roshan’s BangBangDare and went ahead performing a hand stand in heels. But Hrithik is not the only one going all out for his promotions. Check out the various unique promotions carried out by all from Aamir Khan to Vidya Balan.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

Vidya Balan is one of the few Bollywood actors who never shy away from going overboard for the promotion of their films. The then single actress was at her daring best at the promotions of her film Kahaani as she moved around with a huge baby bump at all events. The actress played the role of a pregnant woman in the superhit film and did not mind flaunting her huge bump off screen.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

The makers of the horror film 3 AM considered carrying out the promotions at popular haunted places. The film’s promotions were as scary as the film itself. The film featured VJ and anchor Rannvijay Singh and Anindita Nayar. The 3 AM team even went scouting for such places which were convenient to access and were also sorting permissions from the required authorities. However, the actors were not so eager on the idea and had to be convinced to go ahead with such spooky promotions.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

Hrithik Roshan devised a simple but unique strategy ahead of the release of his film Bang Bang. On the lines of the popular Ice Bucket Challenge, Hrithik gave ‘BangBangDare’ to his Bollywood buddies on Twitter. The actor dared Shah Rukh Khan to show a picture doing his favourite abs exercise whereas he asked Sonam Kapoor to share the collection of her craziest smiles on the success of Khoobsurat. The first one to take up Hrithik’s challenge was Priyanka Chopra who performed a handstand with three push ups in heels.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

Vidya Balan was not the first Bollywood A-lister to fool people in disguises ahead of her film’s promotions. Aamir Khan, who played a genius in 3 Idiots with a suspicious identity, went missing as a part of a unique hide-and-seek strategy. Mr Perfectionist as he is called, gave seven clues about his location and challenged people to spot him if they could. Aamir Khan made public appearances in disguises and the first clue was dropped by master blaster Sachin Tendulkar to identify him.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

While Vidya Balan is already an expert in promoting her films in her unique ways, UTV Motion Pictures promoted her film Ghanchakkar, also starring Emraan Hashmi, by announcing a nationwide treasure hunt. The filmmakers gave fans a chance to win Rs 1 lakh for finding the treasure. As part of the game, money was hidden in 16 cities across the country and the contestants were given clues to find it. This not only made the moviegoers curious but also gave them a chance to win some quick money.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

Vidya Balan always sinks into her character so deep that it gets hard to differentiate her reel self from the real. The critically acclaimed actress took the promotions of her film Bobby Jasoos to a higher level by turning up in her ‘detective’ avatar. The actress who even fooled her father, went ahead to ask Hrithik Roshan for alms while being dressed as a beggar. Vidya Balan left Hrithik irritated who even called out to his bodyguards to throw the beggar out.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

Rani Mukerji brought in action a less popular promotional strategy for her film Mardaani. The diva ditched star-studded events and rather flocked to small towns to meet real Mardaanis across the country. Playing a cop in the film, Rani felicitated a woman sub-inspector Pushpa Yadav in Jhansi besides meeting Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel and Pune Police Commissioner Meeran Borwankar. She also celebrated Independence Day with the jawans in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, ahead of her film’s release.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

Aamir Khan’s next big release PK is already keeping moviegoers curious since the release of its interesting posters. Aamir Khan, who turned a barber during the promotions of his film Ghajini, talked to moviegoers in the cinemas itself. Aamir and Raj Kumar Hirani came up with the idea of placing his talking standees (in his voice) in cinema halls. This was definitely a very innovative idea and involved the audience in the movie promotions.

Bollywood stars’ new promotional tactics

Parineeti Chopra and Aditya Roy Kapur’s food yatra left their fans open-mouthed as they hopped from Mumbai to Ambala and Delhi to Jaipur, tasting the local delicacies. In order to not return wider and heavier from the mouth-watering yatra, Aditya and Parineeti made sure to workout wherever possible. The unique Daawat-e-Ishq promotions proved to be a boon for the actors who relished several types of food across the country. This promotional strategy was the tastiest, we suppose!
