Bollywood's famous iftaar parties

While Shah Rukh Khan missed the fun at Baba Siddique’s Iftaar party as he arrived late, it was Salman Khan’s nephew Ahil who stole all the attention at the star-studded bash. Salman Khan attended the event with his family in presence – sisters Arpita, Alvira, brother-in-law Aayush, mother Helen and father Salim Khan. Katrina Kaif, who is quite close to the Khan family, could not help falling for Ahil at the party. In a small video shared on Instagram, Salman and Katrina can be seen fussing over Ahil who is dressed in a cute kurta-pajama for the occasion. 'Aww'dorable is the word!

All those who were looking forward to Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan sharing a hug again at Baba Siddique's bash were disappointed as the King Khan could reach the venue in Mumbai suburbs only after 9 pm to fulfill his commitment to the popular politician. By the time, Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif, Salman Khan and family, had left for the day. Dressed in a casual black t-shirt and ripped jeans, SRK looked exhausted. Actually, Shah Rukh Khan was shooting a commercial of a soap brand that he endorses with five Bollywood actresses at another location. While his schedule was jam-packed, the shoot got delayed. And being the ardent professional he has always been, SRK wrapped it by late evening and then headed to Baba’s party.

In recent past, Baba Siddiqui's iftaar parties have grabbed enough attention for the much hyped reunion of the two warring Khans - Shah Rukh and Salman - thus burying their long standing feud. Come Ramadan and people begin prepping up for politician Baba Siddiqui’s high-profile iftar parties. While Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan became buddies at one such star-studded iftar party, this time, we expect to see Salman renewing his friendship with old friend Sanjay Dutt. For the record, Salman and Sanjay have not been as close as before post the latter’s release from the Yerwada Jail. But the holy month brings the hope of the actors’ reconciliation who featured in hit films like 'Saajan', 'Dus' and 'Chal Mere Bhai'.

Riteish Deshmukh, Pulkit Samrat enjoy iftaar delicacies at Mohammed Ali Road

Last year, Riteish Deshmukh introduced his Bangistan co-star Pulkit Samrat (who hails from Delhi) to the lip-smacking savouries at Mohammed Ali Road, before Ramzan Eid. Riteish, who has been brought up in Mumbai and knows every good eatery, was quoted saying that he used to go there with his college friends and then lost touch with the place. However, now that he has rediscovered the specialities that these shops offer, he will be regular, come on a sly, late at night, he jested.

A dutiful husband that he is, Riteish also packed some stuff for his wife Genelia, who had given him instructions on what exactly to get.

Last year, Sonam Kapoor got to attend her first ever iftaar evening, and it was at friend Pernia Qureshi’s newly built house. The girls were also celebrating Pernia’s debut film Jaanisaar opposite Imran Abbas. The report further stated that Pernia had special chefs flown in from different locations. While the ladies indulged in some iftaar delicacies, they also clicked some pictures from the evening. Reportedly, the party was attended by Masaba Gupta, Sangeeta Bijlani, Arpita Khan and Jacqueline Fernandez among others.

Shah Rukh, Salman hug each other at Baba Siddiqui's iftaar party: It then sounded surreal, but Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan hugged each other at Congress leader Baba Siddiqui's iftaar party held at Taj Lands End on the evening of July 21,, 2013. Baba Siddiqui who initiated the meeting said, "It was nice to see the two of them greet each other at the iftaar. They embraced each other and even shook hands. I hope they become friends for life now." An eye witness said, "Shah Rukh Khan shook hands with Salman Khan and both even hugged each other surprising the guests present at the iftaar." The witness added, "Shah Rukh was sitting with some people when Baba Siddiqui along with Salman came from behind and tapped on his shoulder and told Salman is here, Shah Rukh stood up went up to Salman Khan and hugged him. Both had broad smiles on their faces." Both the actors had not been on talking terms for more than five years, but the feud ended on this auspicious occasion.

Shah Rukh, Salman hug again: History repeated itself on July 6, 2014, when Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan came together again hugged each other at Baba Siddiqui's iftaar party, held at Taj Lands End. Also present at the occasion was Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chauhan among other celeb guests. Salman's father Salim Khan and brothers Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan were also present. It was a sight to behold when the foes turned friend Khans exchanged pleasantries and posed for photographs.

Salman Khan at Baba Siddiqui's iftaar party, sans Shah Rukh: Salman Khan attended Baba Siddiqui's yet another iftaar party in Mumbai in July 2015, but SRK could not make it this time. Jacqueline Fernandez and Varun Dhawan were also seen among other guests. Like every year, this time too, all eyes were glued to the entrance for Shah Rukh Khan’s arrival but, he could not make it as he was shooting in Bulgaria. Jacqueline was seen dining with Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan. Also spotted was Salman’s sister Arpita, who attended the party with her husband Aayush Sharma. Other B-Town celebrities who attended the party were Huma Qureshi, Kabir Khan, Zarine Khan, Sangeeta Bijlani and a number of TV personalities and politicians.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's iftaar party: The filmmaker hosted an iftaar party on the sets of his upcoming film Bajirao Mastani. Despite working on what can be called as the most ambitious project of his life, SLB took some time out to host a party for the cast and crew of his film. The filmmaker himself decided the menu for the iftaar and made sure each and every member attends the party. Birju Maharaj was also present at the occasion. A source from the sets informs, "Everyone took a long break, spent time chit-chatting with each other before getting back to work. Here, everyone is working with each other for a long time and have a good co-ordination among them. They are working day and night and focussing on completing the work as per schedule. Such a kind of break amidst such a hectic schedule refreshes one and all."

Ekta Kapoor's lavish iftaar party: August 6, 2013 saw the biggest iftaar bash in Bollywood. B-Town and television celebs were in full attendance for the lavish party hosted by producer Ekta Kapoor. Apart from Ekta's family, the evening saw A-list stars like Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, the Roshans and the Kapoors, Akshay Kumar, Emraan Hashmi, Ranveer Singh, Abhishek Bachchan, Arbaaz Khan, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh and several others. Among the TV celebs were Sakshi Tanwar, Urvashi Dholakia, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Kanchi Kaul, Shilpa Saklani, Apurva Agnihotri, Prachi Desai and others.
