'Dhadak': Ashutosh Rana urges to not look for a Sridevi in a Janhvi Kapoor and a Shahid Kapoor in Ishaan

‘Dhadak’ has been one of the much-awaited films of this year, and it finally hit the theatres today. 'Dhadak' is an adaptation of the Marathi superhit 'Sairat' and also stars Ishaan Khatter.

‘Dhadak’ also stars Ashutosh Rana in the lead role as the political strong man. As the actor has quite some interesting projects coming up, he spoke about ‘Dhadak’ and films to a daily.

He reportedly revealed that if one looks at his career graph, one can notice that he has always been interested in taking up different characters. He believes in exploring himself as an actor.

He added that it doesn’t matter if the film belongs to a big production house or a small one. If the script is good and the character is nice, he is all in.

He further added that Bollywood has been very kind. He has been offered roles in intervals but always been blessed with the best. Talking about ‘Dhadak’ director, Rana said that he has had an old association with Shashank since they worked on ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’ together. He even averred that it is a fantastic thing that a director has so much trust in him.

Talking about his character in the film, he said that it’s very different from what he has done in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. He assertively added that he can say the character is someone one will take with him/her once they leave the theatre. He even termed it as a “Dabangg” character.

Talking about Janhvi, Rana reportedly said that on a serious note, even though she is a debutante, nowhere would she feel like a newcomer. Praising Janhvi’s dedication, he opined that she is so professional and focused about her work; and her understanding and the professionalism makes one believe that she is a born actor. He even said that Janhvi is a volcano ready to burst and that she’s going to blow everyone’s mind.

While Janhvi’s comparison with her star mom Sridevi has already begun, Rana addresses the matter too. He further added that if one sees her as Janhvi alone, one will realise how amazing she is. He emphasised that try not to look for a Sridevi in a Janhvi and a Shahid in Ishaan, he can bet one will then see the caliber.

This is how 'Dhadak' makers will honour Sridevi

It has almost been four months since the first female Bollywood superstar Sridevi left for heavenly abode. While the fans and her family has been coping to come to terms with this harsh reality, everyone is looking forward to see her daughter Janhvi on the big screen, who has drawn attention to her splitting resemblance to her mother.

The audience is quite impressed with the trailer of Janhvi’s debut film opposite Ishaan Khatter and have high hopes from the newbie. It’s quite unfortunate that her mother won’t be around to see her success. However, the makers of ‘Dhadak’ have chosen to make the movie extra special for Janhvi by dedicating it to Sridevi herself.

As per a source, both producer Karan Johar and director Shashank Khaitan agreed on this fact that ‘Dhadak’ should be dedicated to the amazing iconic woman whose daughter makes her debut in the film. On being told of the plans to honour Sridevi, her bereaved husband Boney Kapoor expressed to a media portal how her loss is palpable to the whole nation. He further added that he realises that it’s not just her family that misses her, but her fans too miss her every single moment.

Now when she was asked about her father Boney Kapoor's reaction to the film, she imitated him. Janhvi said that her dad Boney said, "Wow, what natural acting you are doing." She also said that Boney Kapoor's reaction (happy or sad) to anything can be figured out with the way he responds with his peculiar tone.
