Double roles in upcoming Bollywood films

Bollywood films are all set to give the audience a dose of double roles. Several upcoming films will now have actors in interesting double roles.
Salman Khan is busy shooting for Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. And according to a Mumbai Mirror report the actor will be seen in a double role in the film. The report further stated that one of the roles is that of a king who presides over a mythical kingdom, while the other one is that of a common man. Reportedly, the royal King Khan will be seen donning over 15 different designer outfits throughout the film. Sonam Kapoor will be seen playing Salman Khan's love interest in the film.

Sunny Leone will also be seen in a dual role in her next film, Mastizaade. This film is an adult comedy directed by Milap Zaveri and produced by Pritish Nandy Communications. Mastizaade will have Sunny playing the role of twins, Laila and Lily Lele. She will be romancing Vir Das and Tusshar Kapoor who will be playing the lead characters of Aditya Chothia and Sunny Kele respectively. Speaking to The Times of India, Sunny had said, "I have never led the cast of an adult comedy nor have I played a twin before. So, there are many firsts for me."

Shah Rukh Khan has essayed several double roles in the past. The actor portrayed dual roles in Don and Duplicate and now he is set for a double whammy in his next film Fan. According to a DNA report, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in a double role in the film, he will be playing himself and also a fan of himself in the movie. As the title suggests, Fan is about SRK's crazy admirer who wants to meet him. The report also stated that one of the shots in the film will have SRK celebrating his birthday as he does always, while his look-alike fan (played by him) will be looking at him from a distance.

Kangana Ranaut has portrayed several bold characters on the silver screen, and now she is all set join in the league of actors who have carried off two roles simultaneously. This is for the first time that Kangana will attempt a twin avatar. Speaking about her character to The Times of India, Kangana said, "What sets these two roles apart is that they are both headstrong characters and that is what makes this a deliciously complex love triangle. It's a progressive take on a modern marriage." Kangana will be essaying the role of Tanu from the first part, who is married to Manu played by R Madhavan for four years and her second role will be that of a Haryanvi athlete preparing for a big event.

Shahid Kapoor successfully portrayed a double role in Kaminey. The actor played the striking characters of twin brothers Charlie and Guddu. According to a report in the Times of India, the twin brothers will be back in the sequel. The report further quoted Shahid Kapoor as saying, "Kaminey 2 is genuine pulp fiction and the icing on the cake is that Vishal sir has come up with an amazing re-interpretation of 'Dhan Te Nan'. It's a romantic version of the earlier chartbuster."

Reports suggest that Anushka Sharma will also be seen playing a double role in her next film, Bombay Velvet. According to a Filmfare report, Anushka Sharma has a double role in the film. Anushka Sharma plays a Jazz singer in the movie, while her other character is still not revealed. The actress is paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Bombay Velvet which has been directed by Anurag Kashyap. According to a report on indiatoday.in, Anushka Sharma's lip enhancement might have been to portray the different characters in Bombay Velvet.

Abhishek Bachchan will be seen playing a double role in his upcoming mega release, Happy New Year. According to a report on Indiatoday.in, Abhishek will be portraying a raving alcoholic and the other role would be that of a tapori. This is the first time that Abhishek Bachchan will be playing a double role and he reportedly received a lot of help and support from his co-star in the film, Shah Rukh Khan. Happy New Year is all set to hit the screens this Diwali.
