MSG 2: What to expect from the film

Why Punjab is saying no to ‘MSG 2’

Unlike its first part, MSG: The Messenger, MSG 2 –The Messenger did not get into any controversy, neither did it face any ban. But looks like the theatre owners of Punjab are showing no interest in the film or so claims a report on Hindustantimes.com. As stated in the report, the followers of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan, who is the hero, director, music director, lyricist and singer of the film, did not get to see the film at many places across the state on Friday. The various Sikh outfits have demanded for a ban on the film, which is why the theatre owners are not willing to take any risk. Surprisingly, no cinema hall in Bathinda, the hub of Dera activities in Punjab, is screening the film, the report stated. Other major cities in the state like Ludhiana and Jalandhar are also not so keen on screening MSG 2 –The Messenger.

Read on to find out what we think one can expect from the film…

MSG 2: What to expect from the film

It was only a few months ago that the audience had the chance to catch Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singhji Insaan fighting evil on the silver screen. Encouraged by the response, Babaji has decided to bless his bhakts with his presence yet again. He has come up with a sequel to his film, MSG: Messenger Of God. The sequel promises to be even better than the first part. So, expect Babaji to be more entertaining and enlightening than the first time. Let's take a look at what we think can be expected from this film...

MSG 2: What to expect from the film

Bling is Bling: If the first film was any indication, it is clear that Babaji loves bling. He seems to have a fetish for clothes that look like they have been lifted from the sets of a mythological TV show. However, Saint Ram Rahim Singhji Insaan carries off the all bling look with his confidence and attitude. He also seems to have borrowed a bike from the ghost rider. However, trust Babaji to ride it even more convincingly. The moment he zips in on the bike, you will not notice anything else. While the film is not in 3D, theatres will probably provide the audience with sunglasses to cut off the glare of Babaji's brilliant appearance.

MSG 2: What to expect from the film

Forget Redbull, Babaji gives you wings: This Babaji is a performer of miracles. He has learnt the basics of defying gravity and uses it to his advantage while fighting baddies. Unlike Batman or Superman who need at least a cape to streamline the wind flow while flying, Babaji's flight is independent. He is one up on his adversaries thanks to his ability of flight. With the rate at which Babaji is clocking in the air miles, we are sure that very soon, he will make the third part of the film for his dear fans to enjoy.

MSG 2: What to expect from the film

What's the message from the messenger: The first film had documented the life of the great saint. The movie film also delved into situations involving youth-related issues like drug abuse and alcoholism. The film was released in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. However, in the sequel Babaji has taken it upon himself to fight for the tribals of the country. The film is apparently based on the struggle in the lives of the tribals and how the saint manages to solve all their problems with his magic touch. All that bling couldn't have been for nothing!

MSG 2: What to expect from the film

One man army: The first film was written, co-directed and produced by Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singhji Insaan. It also featured seven songs, all of which were written, composed and sung by the saint. The next part of the film, too, is expected to be the brainchild of Babaji. Just like the first film, the sequel seems to have all the makings of a blockbuster. With it's Earth-shattering action stunts and mind-blowing VFX sequence, the film might just be the boost that the box-office was waiting for. Like the first time, Babaji's many fans will ensure the film runs into packed houses.

Courting controversies: The earlier film that documented the life of Saint Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan, was embroiled in controversies ever since it announced its release. The film that was earlier slated to release on January 16, didn't manage to get past the Censor Board. 'Breach of peace and threat to social harmony' was cited as one of the reasons to stop the screening of the movie, as per reports. However, in his defence, Ram Rahim had said that there is nothing objectionable in his movie, adding that there was not a 'single word against any religion, caste or community' in the film. The report quoted Ram Rahim as saying that the film will not promote any superstition or obscurantism and is based on real incidents. Based on these claims, the film was allowed to release on February 13, 2015. However, even then, it was unofficially banned in the state of Uttarakhand. Given the history, it wouldn't be a surprise if Babaji is geared up to combat controversies this time.
